WHY DO NFL AND D1 ATHLETES TRAIN NECK?

Why train your neck for football?

There’s an overwhelming amount of scientific studies that prove the stronger your neck, the less of a chance you will get a concussion. The neck acts as a shock absorber for the head and brain. For example, you don’t see any athletes playing at the higher levels like D1 and NFL with long skinny necks. Those who don’t train their necks have a higher risk of getting injured before stepping up to the next level.

What is a “concussion prevention protocol”?

It’s a regular habit for athletes to train their neck to reduce the chances of concussion and injury.  Based on facts, every contact sports player and every team needs to have a “concussion prevention protocol” that includes weekly neck training with the Neck Flex during the season, and in the off season. Since 2010 we have sold to countless football teams at every level - from high school to D1 to NFL - and the coaches have reported a substantial reduction in the number of concussions.

Does the Neck Flex® Work?

Since 2010, the results have been overwhelmingly positive. The Neck Flex is cost effective for buying multiple units for teams (We have steep team discounts). It primarily utilizes resistance bands instead of iron weights - so it’s extremely safe (Please review our Video Gallery). And for the more serious big lineman-type athletes on the team, it has the ability to hook into chained cable stacks and plate load with very, very, heavy weights from each and every angle of the neck. However, most strength coaches find the patented snap proof resistance band extremely effective to train multiple athletes’ necks at once. It simply works.

How fast does the Neck Flex® Work?

The neck responds very quickly to high volume and high repetition resistance band work. Neck strength and size will increase after the first week and continue very rapidly for the first six weeks.  The neck normally doesn’t get trained, so it responds very quickly if trained correctly with a Neck Flex.

How often should an athlete train their neck for football?

At least once a week and up to every day before practice.

Why is Neck Flex® SUPERIOR TO Iron Neck or 4 way neck machines?

The Neck Flex kit was designed specifically for athletes. 4 Way Neck Machines are old designs, expensive, take up a lot of room, and can only train one athlete at a time. The Neck Flex is comparatively very inexpensive. Sports teams can buy multiple kits and train most or all the team at once as part of circuit training (see the video below). Additionally, the Neck Flex is more versatile and can do more than a 4 way neck machine (like rotation), and is much more effective because of the versatility and multiple ways one can train the neck. Finally, other gadgets on the market like Iron Neck can’t do basic movements necessary to train for football, such as flexion. Flexion is described as basically, moving your chin to chest and ear to shoulder. Train your neck as it would be met on the field! And of course, partner assisted neck training doesn’t even come close if an athlete is serious about consistent, effective neck training

Is there anything better than the Neck Flex®?

In short, no.  The Neck Flex design is patented and unparalleled in overall performance and versatility.  There is nothing as effective and safe for a team’s Concussion Prevention Protocol.
